Lunch Seminar & Q&A: Legal Issues and Emerging Trends Related to Dyslexia in Washington Schools
Join us for an informative lunch seminar exploring the legal landscape and current trends surrounding dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities in Washington schools. Presenters Lara Hruska and Elicia Johnson from Cedar Law will provide an overview of key state and federal laws, recent guidance, and how districts are responding to growing awareness and legal obligations around early identification, specialized instruction, and accommodations.
They’ll discuss:
Recent legal developments impacting students with dyslexia.
Trends in how Washington school districts are addressing screening, intervention, and services.
Practical considerations for families, educators, and advocates navigating special education and Section 504 processes.
Common challenges and emerging best practices.
The seminar will conclude with an open Q&A, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with legal and educational experts.
Who should attend: Parents, caregivers, educators, advocates, and professionals working with students with learning differences.
