Join us for a lunchtime panel with three accomplished mother attorneys as they discuss networking in a post pandemic/Zoom world. Our panelists will discuss how their approach to networking has changed since the pandemic, how they prepare for networking events, generational differences in the approach to networking, and so much more.
 
Megan Fouty

Megan Fouty is the General Counsel and CHRO at Glowforge, Inc., a Seattle-based technology start-up that designs and produces 3D laser printers.  Megan oversees the Legal, HR, customer support organization, recruiting, and the facilities team at Glowforge. Megan joined Glowforge's executive team during a period of rapid growth. Megan came from heading up the legal team at Convoy, Inc. another Seattle-based technology start up. In addition to her day job, Megan founded and runs Diversity University, a company that provides diversity, equity, and inclusion tools such as trainings, project management, or assists in investigations for companies, law firms, and organizations. Megan's background includes both law firm and in-house experience with previous senior legal positions at Moss Adams, one of the country's largest public accounting firms and Expeditors International, a Fortune 500 international logistics company.  Megan serves on the board of directors for Providence Pediatric Hospice of Seattle. Recently she was awarded the top ten 30 somethings by ACC national,  received the "Legal MVP Award" by SimpleLegal, she was listed in Marquis 2022 Who's Who in America, was featured on the International "The Counsel" Podcast, and was recognized  by  Women, Influence and Power in Law for Championing Diversity in-house and for Innovative Leadership.  She has spoken around the country on a wide range of topics and is seen as a prominent leader in the legal community. She recently published her book The Art of Networking, providing anyone looking for career progression or to grow a more robust network with tangible tools and advice to do so. 
 
Darcel Lobo

Darcel Lobo is the founder of DAL Law Firm. Darcel brings practical solutions to real-life issues and helps clients plan for their financial future. She provides legal guidance in estate planning, real estate matters and bankruptcy. Her experience and ties to the community mean she understands the people of Des Moines and Burien, as well as neighboring areas.
 
In addition to her legal practice, Darcel coaches other lawyers who are seeking to open their own law firms, manage their law firms, and avoid the burnout that can come with juggling work and family life.
 
Darcel Lobo is a wife and proud mother of two young kids. Darcel is a graduate of Seattle University and Seattle University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Washington, as well as in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. She currently serves as the Chair for the Washington State Bar Association Solo and Small Practice Section, the Board of Directors for the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce, Co-Director of the Ladder Down Program of MAMA Seattle, and the King County Bar Association Board of Trustees. She also writes about legal matters for the B-Town (Burien) Blog.
 
Shashi Vijay

Shashi is a Managing partner and owner of VJ LAW FIRM in Redmond, which she founded in 2010 with the vision of helping individuals and businesses with their legal needs, by partnering closely with them and formulating solutions in an expeditious manner.

Shashi has more than a decade of experience in business, commercial contracts, technology transactions and privacy policies and corporate governance and related litigation. She is currently part-time in-house counsel at a software consulting company and represents small and medium size businesses and tech startups in business and real estate matters.

Shashi earned her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and is admitted to practice in State and Federal district courts. She is a member of the King County Board of Trustees and serves on the MAMAS Board as Co-Director of DEI subcommittee. Shashi is the incoming Chair of the South Asian Bar association and has served as past Chair of the WSBA Solo and Small practice section and KCBA solo and business law sections. In addition, Shashi is an active participant of various groups such as Washington Women Lawyers, Joint Minority Member Association, and the Seattle University alumni network.

Shashi was born and raised in India and outside of work is a busy mom raising her 16 year old son and 12 year old daughter and loves spending time outdoors and travelling with her husband and kids.
